The Castro Street Fair is always the first Sunday in October. In 2017, the Fair is on Sunday, October 1.

Where is the Castro Street Fair?

The Fair is located in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro District, at the intersection of Market & Castro Streets and the surrounding area.

Is there an entrance fee to the Castro Street Fair?

We ask for a suggested donation of $10 at the entry gates.

Where does the money collected at the entry gates go?

Monies collected at the entry gates go directly to our beneficiaries. Additionally, when you donate at the gate you receive a sticker which is good for $1.00 off at Official Castro Street Fair Beverage Booths. Proceeds from these booths also go directly to our beneficiaries. Please patronize our beverage booths and support the exhibitors and sponsors who help to make this Fair possible.

I want to perform at the Fair, how do I apply for consideration?

Acts are considered throughout the spring and early summer, and final lineups are chosen in August. Submit your act’s materials to for consideration.

What Streets are closed for the Fair?

Between 4:00 am and 10:00 pm on the day of the Fair the following streets are closed:

  • Market Street between Noe and Eureka
  • Castro Street between 16th and 19th
  • 17th Street between Noe and Diamond
18th Street between Noe and Diamond

What’s the best way to get to the Fair?

Taking Muni to the Fair is highly recommended. The K, L, M, and T lines all stop at the Castro Station, which is located within the fairgrounds.

For a fee, parking is also available in the Everett Middle School Parking Lot — located on the north-side of 17th Street between Church and Sanchez. The lot is available from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm the day of the Fair.

When are notices and vehicle passes distributed to the Castro residents and merchants?

Notices and vehicle passes are distributed approximately two weeks prior to the Fair. Contact if you have not received yours.
