$55,000 donated to our beneficiares

We are so happy to have ended 2017 on such a good note, and we have all of our neighbors, volunteers, and partners to thank!

On December 14th of 2017, the Castro Street Fair Board of Directors held our annual Holiday Party where we awarded $55,000.00 in proceeds to our amazing 2017 nonprofit beneficiary organizational partners. Since 1998, the Fair is proud to have given nearly $1.5 million back to it’s community beneficiaries.

We hope that 2018, which will showcase the 45th Castro Street Fair, brings even more good fortune to the most fabulous neighborhood of San Francisco.

Thank you for attending the 44th annual Castro Street Fair!

44th Annual Castro Street Fair

From everyone at the Castro Street Fair, thank you for a wonderful day!

The sun was shining, everyone had a smile on their face, and the Castro was alive with fantastic performances. We are so grateful to all of our entertainers for gracing our stages with their talent, our amazing sponsors for supporting us, the hundreds of exhibitors who lined the streets, and the thousands of attendees who donated at the gate, supported our Beverage Partners and danced with us in the streets.

Our annual Fair is a labor of love, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our partner beneficiary organizations, who supply us with hundreds of hours of volunteer time – thanks! We share proceeds from the gate donations, as well as proceeds from sales at our Official Beverage Booths, with our beneficiaries. If you weren’t able to donate yesterday, you still can, by texting CASTRO to 41-444.

While we are truly thankful for a successful and safe day of celebration in San Francisco, our hearts are also with the people and visitors of Las Vegas. Such senseless tragedy reminds us to hug our friends and family even tighter.

Finally, we want to appreciate the Castro itself – such a special place is due to a fantastic community of neighbors, officials, businesses, and organizations. We are particularly grateful to the residents and merchants who so graciously welcome the Fair year after year. We are incredibly proud to call the Castro home; it’s our goal to highlight the fabulous attitude of the neighborhood while raising invaluable dollars for local nonprofits. And, we help to buy and maintain the spectacular rainbow flag that flies high over the Castro. Thank you again for making the 44th Castro Street Fair one of the best ever!

See you at the Fair!

Rainbow Flag at Harvey Milk Plaza in the Castro

It is going to be a fabulous sunny day in the Castro today, where neighbors, friends, exhibitors, sponsors, and local merchants come together to celebrate our favorite neighborhood and the legacy of Harvey Milk.

Remember that your donations at the gate help make this fair a reality, and supports our esteemed beneficiaries. This year, in addition to helping underwrite the cost of flying the Rainbow Flag at Harvey Milk Plaza, we are also sharing proceeds with these incredible beneficiaries: Bears of San Francisco, Castro Community on Patrol, Castro Country Club, Centro La Olas, Instituto Familiar de la Raza, Family Link, Haight Ashbury Cooperative Nursery School, Imperial Council of San Francisco, McKinley Elementary PTA, Most Holy Redeemer AIDS Support Group, San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band, San Francisco Spikes Soccer Club, SF Boom Softball Team, Queer Lifespace, and 15 Association.

Check out the map of the Fair so you can find your way in the new and improved footprint, as well as the full entertainment schedule to make sure you don’t miss your favorite acts or DJ’s.
