The Castro Street Fair is seeking public volunteers for this year’s event. The fair wouldn’t be possible without the help of the community, so we are looking for help with morning and afternoon shifts for a variety of roles.
To find out more about our beneficiary groups who will receive funding from your participation, as well as what positions and time slots are available, check out our volunteer registration form.
See you at the fair, on Sunday October 1!
The Castro Street Fair is pleased to announce a revised footprint for our annual neighborhood celebration. In 2017, the Fair will take place on Castro Street between Market and 19th Streets, and on 18th Street between Noe and Diamond Streets. As always, the Fair will feature multiple stages of entertainment; along with food and beverage vendors and hundreds of arts & crafts and community organization exhibitors.
In previous years, the Fair has also taken place along Market Street, between Diamond and Noe Streets. After careful consideration, the Board of Directors decided not to close Market Street, so Market will remain open to traffic for the duration of the Street Fair on Sunday, October 1. As a result, you can expect to see changes in the location of entertainment areas, as well as food and beverage vendor placement. We will post an updated footprint on our website as soon as it’s completed!
“We are excited for this new chapter in the life of the Castro Street Fair,” said Jon Murray, Co-President of the Board of Directors. “The Fair started as a way to celebrate the neighborhood, its residents and merchants, by the one and only Harvey Milk, back in 1974. We are very excited to invite the city to come out and experience our new layout, the energy and excitement of this year’s entertainment, and to enjoy shopping in our exhibitor marketplace. While the physical footprint changes from year to year, the spirit of the Fair remains the most important part of our work on the Board.”
Exhibitor space and sponsorship opportunities are still available for the 44th Annual Castro Street Fair!
