Introducing new ways to donate to the Fair!

Rainbow Flag in the Castro

We are excited to announce the launch of the new Donate form on our website – a new way to help support the fair.

Castro Street Fair is a non-profit 501c3 organization, and fundraising event for the local community. Founded by Harvey Milk in 1974, the annual cost to produce the Fair has grown to over $200K. Your one-time or recurring donation is essential to our on-going success.

This year, in addition to helping underwrite the cost of flying the Rainbow Flag at Harvey Milk Plaza, we are also sharing proceeds with these incredible beneficiaries: Bears of San Francisco, Castro Community on Patrol, Castro Country Club, Centro La Olas, Familiar de la Raza, Family Link, Haight Ashbury Cooperative Nursery School, Imperial Council of San Francisco, McKinley Elementary PTA, Most Holy Redeemer AIDS Support Group, San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band, San Francisco Spikes Soccer Club, SF Boom Softball Team, Queer Lifespace, 15 Association.

We also made it easier for you to donate during the fair, if you forgot to go to the ATM. Simply text the word “CASTRO” to 41-444, and you can make your gate donation with your credit or debit card.

By making it more convenient for you to donate, we want you to be a big part of making the 44th Annual Castro Street Fair the most successful EVER for the charitable organizations we partner with.   Please consider donating now, or giving at the entry gate. See you Sunday at the Fair!

Entertainment Spotlight: Sundance Saloon

Sundance Saloon

One of our favorite places to be during the Castro Street Fair is the Sundance Saloon Country Western Dance Stage! Here, you’ll find an unbelievably friendly and welcoming crowd, whether you’re an experienced dancer or still tripping over your feet. If you don’t know how to dance, they’ll teach you – or just come on down to enjoy the spirited fun.

You can find them in a new location this year, on 18th Street at Noe.
Bring your dancin’ boots!

Exhibitor Spotlight: Gabriel Garbow Art and Illustration

Gabriel Garbow is a lifelong devotee of art, drawing, and the male body. Garbow’s unique style takes cues from contemporary screen prints, pop art, and turn of the century book illustration. Recent series have run the gamut from explicit depictions of nude men to placid scenes from summer camp.  You can view more on Gabriel’s website, and come check out his booth at the Fair, on Sunday October 1st!
