Safety Volunteers play a critical role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of everyone at the Castro Street Fair. Each safety volunteer shift is four hours in length, and you can sign up for more than one. Responsibilities include facilitating, monitoring and maintaining barricades and street closures, as well as assisting with access for authorized vehicles. Safety volunteers also perform foot patrols throughout the Fair, answer questions for fairgoers, neighbors and merchants, as well as report any potential safety hazards to our Safety Coordinators. Presence is a big part of this fun job that also allows you the opportunity to see some of the exhibits and vendors that the fair offers.
