Letter from the President: Castro Street Fair 2025

Redge Roberts IIWelcome to the 51st Castro Street Fair!

This year’s theme, Radical Happiness, reflects the power of joy in uncertain times. Across the country, LGBTQ+ communities are facing renewed attacks. Our answer? To be visible and to remind the world that joy is resilience, and celebration is resistance.

Since Harvey Milk founded the Fair in 1974, it has grown into one of San Francisco’s most cherished traditions. For more than five decades, the Fair has brought neighbors, visitors, artists, and businesses together in support of the Castro. Along the way, we’ve given back over $1.6 million to local nonprofits, strengthening the community we call home. Continue reading “Letter from the President: Castro Street Fair 2025” →

The 51st Castro Street Fair: Sunday, October 5, 2025

This October, the Castro Street Fair turns 51 — and the celebration is already in full swing!

This year’s theme, Radical Happiness, was chosen as a bold response to the times we live in. Across the country, LGBTQ+ people and communities are under attack — politically, culturally, and socially. In the face of this, we believe that joy itself is a radical act.

The 50th Castro Street Fair: Sunday, October 6, 2024

The Fiftieth Castro Street Fair is rapidly approaching, and the streets will be filled with joy and music!

In 2024, the Fair will see some of San Francisco’s best DJ talent grace the Castro Stage, at Market and Castro.

After the buzz of live bands at the Collingwood Stage, on Collingwood at 18th, enjoy an afternoon of drag and dance, curated by the fabulous Juanita MORE!

New in 2024 is a stage co-produced by the Fair’s friends at Queer Arts Featured, in front of the iconic storefront that housed Harvey’s camera shop when the Fair was founded. As in years past, boogie with the Sundance Saloon crew behind the Castro Theatre, and be amazed by the high-flying acrobatics of CHEER SF.

Join us on Sunday, October 6, 2024 for more surprises!
